In 2008 the Caballero Group acquired former Domecq historical and iconic Sherry brands La Ina , Botaina , Río Viejo and Viña 25, through its flagship quality Sherry producer, Emilio Lustau. The agreement included the purchase of the old Soleras of all these wines totalling 4,000 butts of Sherry, which are preserved and maintained according to traditional Sherry ageing methods. This important operation supports the group’s strategy for top quality brands, complementing the portfolio with another premium Sherry range.
These international brands, which had been left for some years in the shade, have been recuperated by Lustau to be relaunched and positioned again in wine distribution channels. In 2010 two sherries were added to this range: manzanilla Macarena and cream Candela. Thus, the La Ina range was completed.
